Duty

Find out the immediate and intimate instead of trying to find out what is distant and unknown.

Work performed with attachment is a shackle.Whereas work performed with detachment does not  affect the doer. Actually the person is unaffected by karma when not bothered about the outcome.

It's wise to drop the sense of responsibility and free-will by regarding ourselves as the ordained instruments of the all-wise and all-powerful, to do and suffer as he pleases. He carries all burdens and gives us pleasure.

Actions form no bondage which is the result of our false notion or ego  "I am the doer". Drop such thoughts, and let the body and senses play their role without your interference. The sea is not aware of its wave and likewise, Self is unaware of its ego.

The BhagvadGita  was taught for reminding the duty of a human being.

Arjuna refused to fight.
Krishna said, “So long as you refuse to fight, you have the sense of doership. Who are you to refrain or to act?Renounce the notion of doership. You are being manipulated by a Higher Power. Recognise that Power and submit yourself as a tool."

To engage in your duty in true prostration is the devotion or service to God.

Engage yourself in living the present .The future will take care of itself.

Earnest efforts never fail. Remain patient and sincere. Success is bound to come.

What does it matter whether you attend to the work or not?
Suppose you move from one place to another without the awareness that you move step by step. But you reach the destination finally.
Notice how the work (moving place-to-place) goes on without your conscious efforts to attend it.
The same applies to all other kinds of work or duty.
